Southern Style Beat Down

This is the end my friends. This weekend the Phillies play the falling apart Mets. If they don’t sweep the Mets, its all Eagles all the time from here on out.

Jimmy Rollins…. Get your head out of your ass. I read somewhere that he has the worst OBP of all players with enough AB’s to qualify.

He’s the worst lead off man in baseball and lately the 9 hole in the line up has a higher OBP and batting average than the 2007 MVP.

You’re a lost cause, lost cause, lost cause… Come on!

Boy oh boy have the Flyers really found a way to split it’s fan base right down the middle.  As we speak, arguments are raging all across the region about the acquisition of former Whaler, cup champion, future hall of fame, 6-6, 214lb monster Chris “Born to be a Flyer” Pronger.  I feel that everyone is happy he is here, but at what cost?

The Exhibit

I caught up with Jared Wheeler of Mitchell and Ness about history, Fandom, and Rappers… Thanks to Nancy Pants aka precious/pretty lady for hooking this up. Jared seems like a good dude who has the best job of about anyone I ever encountered. Read on, if you are a baseball fan or like making fun of people, you’ll  be stoked.

Tell those who don’t know, a little bit about the exhibit “Play Ball” that’s running now through October at the Betsy Ross House?
The exhibit “Play Ball” explores the history of baseball throughout the city of Philadelphia. It traces the origins of our past time back to the 1800’s and concludes with the 2008 World Series Champion Phillies. Arranged within the exhibit is the history of Philadelphia’s two Major League clubs, the Phillies and the Athletics. The exhibit also captures the Bonnet League Bobbies; a woman’s barnstorming team that was established after the passing of the 19th amendment. It also highlights the social injustice of segregation, an institution which was informally put in place by team owners. The Negro Leagues were formed out of segregation and several prominent teams are focused on within the exhibit. This is a sure spot to hit up this summer if you are a ball fan. Mr. Stewart sir…you’ve gone too far. I will no longer get all of my news from your pathetic show…I will be relegated to getting my information from other “news” sources like CNN and MSNBC. I’m appalled, and angry at the amount of real news I will now be forced to miss.

A lot of people say that the Phillies are the best team in the National League? Really?

I still don’t see it. Sorry. I know they’re taking it to the Devil Rays, but shit. I still need to see this team, I dunno, WIN AT HOME? Undefeated at home last year in the post season, can buy a win this year.

Charlie has a sore wrist. Must be from smacking his players around.
