Really Shane? Come on Man!

Really Shane? Come on Man!

Shane won his second gold glove today. But I would be remiss if I didn’t rip my wife’s Pavorite Phillie.
Here. I’ll let my man Dan Gross tell it…

“SHANE VICTORINO and Ryan Howard were in a small party that stopped by Dusk, inside Caesars Atlantic City, on Saturday night. Could it have been a bachelor party? On Saturday, the Phillies outfielder marries Melissa Smith in Hawaii. The couple live in Las Vegas during the off-season and have a 2 1/2-year-old daughter, Kali’a. TMZ.com reports that Berks County baby-daddy Jon Gosselin will attend the wedding. We know that he and the Flyin’ Hawaiian are good friends.”

Good friend. I think I just puked a little bit. Too many Tiny Bubbles for Shane I guess?

Brett and his son Colt at Spring Training this year

Brett Myers career as a Phillie, has ended.

Here’s what he had to say about it to Jim Salusbury “I’ll miss the guys on the team and the fans who have supported me. Hopefully I’ll be playing against the Phillies and when I do I want the roughest treatment the fans can give me – when I’m pitching. I’m an opposing player – you have to give it to me.”

Give it up for Brett Myers. Later man

Capitalism Prevails…

yankees_evil_empire

I hate whiners…and I’m too bitter and bummed to write anything of importance or eloquence. But this dude…he says it all:

“They don’t just spend more money than every other team. They spend A LOT more money than every other team. The Boston Red Sox spend $50 million more than the Kansas City Royals? Who cares? The Yankees spend $80 million more than the Boston Red Sox.”

It’s absolutely mind boggling how skewed things are in their favor, I had no idea.

PLEASE do yourself a favor and read the whole article.

It’s cringe inducing things like this that make me hate to admit I’m a Philadelphia sports fan. Why is it that every time a camera turns on, these mouth breathers come running? It’s like a moth to a flame, I swear?!

Just for the record…at the :50 second mark, those are definitely Jet’s fans, I’m just sayin’.

One of these things is not like the other

One of these things just doesn’t belong.

If you’re not a gamer.
If you don’t want the ball.
If you don’t strive for the opportunity to succeed.
If you’re the opposite of clutch.

STEP UP OR GET OUT.

Cole Hamels goes 3d

by rob on Oct.31, 2009, under Phillies

***Update, fixed video*** (Anyone else think Cole shouldn’t be throwing around words like “Pussy” considering his current situation? Hmmmm?)

Just in time for game 3 today, two of my favorite things in the world have joined forces and blown my mind. The Phillies and Modern Warfare2. I never thought my geeky gaming world and sports world would collide in such beautiful harmony. I can’t tell if it really is Cole, but it appears he’s doing the voiceover for a fake PSA about randomly tossing grenades in the game (which is a big issue btw), check it out for yourself:

Another Chance to Get it Right

Another Chance to Get it Right

The umpires actually got it right! The dude behind the plate pissed off the Yankees all night long. what, no home field advantage?

Anyway when Jimmy Rollins nearly dropped that pop up and doubles of Matsui. I was pumped.

Then well, I’ll let Jimmy get it from here: “I was trying to let it hit the ground,” Rollins said. “I looked up and I saw Robinson kind of halfway. Worst-case scenario is

I catch the ball and that’s what happened. Gorman, from the time I caught the ball, started yelling, ‘Catch! Catch!’ And I was kind of disappointed. I was like, ‘Nooooo.’

“So I went ahead and went through it anyway and Matsui was walking back with his head down. I was trying to yell at Ryan to make sure he tagged him. And he did. So I turned around to Gorman and said, ‘That’s two outs.’ And he was like, ‘Let’s talk about it.’ Once I caught it and we tagged him, it was kind of automatic. There was nothing to mess up there.”

Nicely done by a team that’s been there before. Cliff Lee acted like the World Fucking Series was no big deal.

Dude has stones.

He gets that from the manager.

How can you hate this team? Really?
